Perimeter School's "The Sound of Music" (Arts & Entertainment)
Time: 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Perimeter School students will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” on Nov. 18, 19 and 20. “The Sound of Music” is the wonderful story about a postulant named Maria who proves too high-spirited for the religious life. She is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain. Performances will be held in the Main Auditorium at Perimeter Church, 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, Ga. 30097, located at the corner of Old Alabama Road and Hwy. 141. Performances will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday. General admission tickets will be available at the door.

Celebrity Dance Challenge (Fundraiser)

Location: 14th Street Playhouse

Fashioned after hit shows So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars, the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) and Dance 101 have joined forces to create the Celebrity Dance Challenge. Atlanta celebrities partner with Dance 101 instructors for the competition, scheduled to take place at the 14th Street Playhouse on November 19. The public will determine the winner of by voting for their favorite celebrity at www.dancingforselfesteem.org. Anyone can cast a vote by making a $1 tax-deductible contribution to EDIN. EDIN will be collecting votes online in the weeks preceding the event and during the final performance. Advance tickets to the Celebrity Dance Challenge™ are $25 plus taxes and box office fees; $30 tickets will be sold at the door. EDIN and Dance 101 will be updating the site with interviews and video of the celebs rehearsing.
